By MICHELINE STOTTMANN-BROOKS, Associated PressNew York, U.S. (AP) – A bear in Minnesota is the latest to spread bear-related disease from the state.
A bear has been spotted in a southern Minnesota town and it is not clear whether the bear was part of a bear-to-human transmission chain.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says the bear and its three cubs were spotted Sunday in a forested area in the north central Minnesota town of West Olive.
It’s not clear how the bears got there.
The DNR says the bears were spotted along a logging road that leads to the southern part of the state, but no one was hurt in the incident.
