Inter Milan have scored two goals in the first half of a Serie A game that is sure to be remembered for its epic clash of titans.
The Bianconeri, who have now won five consecutive games, took advantage of the hosts’ poor form to dominate a first half that was not nearly as tight as their win over Lazio last Sunday.
However, after a half-time lull, the Giallorossi struck again when Mario Balotelli headed home from a free-kick after the restart.
The result was their fifth win in seven games, their best since a 5-1 victory over Udinese on March 23.
Inter are still unbeaten in their last six Serie A matches, but they are yet to score in the league, and the visitors could be without Paulo Dybala, who has been out since March 1 with a knee injury.
The Nerazzurri, who are without their leading scorer, Antonio Candreva, will hope for a more comfortable start from Giorgio Chiellini in his absence.
But Balotellini’s header was his fifth of the season, while Roma will be without their top scorer, Marco Cassano, after he suffered a knee problem against Inter.
